Jim “Hambone” Hammons, 60, of Thurman, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. Jim was born January 3, 1963, in London, Ohio, the son of Donald and Harriet (Stout) Hammons.
Jim enjoyed hunting, anything outdoors, painting and completing wonderful pieces of art, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He cherished his family and friends, was a beloved member of the Fraternal order of Eagles and was able to complete many welding projects alongside his father.
Jim is survived by his parents: Donnie and Harriet Hammons; Girlfriend: Dana Schutte; Daughter: Miranda James Hammons; Sisters: Libby Hammons, Kim (Shane) Hammons- Bexfield, and Amanda Kinney; Grandchildren: Chase and Marley Knotts; Nieces and Nephews: Christian Tuthill, Faith and Hope Kinney, and Mason Bexfield; Numerous family and friends; Loving dogs: Azalee, Madlee, and Arlo
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents: Henry and Bertha (Riffit) Hammons and Dwayne and Virginia (Nutter) Stout; Numerous family members.
The family invites friends to call at the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 E. High Street, London, Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5:00pm- 7:00pm with a funeral service, officiated by Ed Banion, to follow on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00am. An interment service will follow at Deercreek Cemetery.
