James R. Bowen, 89, of London, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in his residence. James was born June 6, 1932, in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Robert and Eva Bowen.
James was a hard worker, he worked at the White Westing House, Madison County Hospital, and the London Public Library for over 45 years. He was a Korean War Veteran. In his spare time, he was a very busy electrician. He was a member of the Chandler Lodge 138 York Rite. James attended the Plumwood Church of Christ and Christian Union for over 30 years. He has been happily reunited with his loyal companion Rosie.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Bonnie L. (Boughn) Bowen; Children: Pamela Karow, Sherry Doggett, Kathy (Tom) Doggett, Jane (Don) Rumpff, Karen Kimbler, James Robert Bowen, Kevin Bowen, Sam (Sharon) Stires, Chris (Sarah) Stires, and Trevor (Penny) Stires; Twenty-Six grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his parents; Sisters: Margaret Enright, Joyce Meyer, and Louise Tucker; Brother: Robert Bowen; Daughter: Barbara Bowen; Son: David Bowen
Family invites friends to call at the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 E. High Street, London, Ohio on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 3pm to 7pm with the funeral service Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11am being officiated by Rev. Mark Jordan and Rev. Tracy Dague. Interment to follow at Somerford Cemetery, London, Ohio.
