Bernice Faye (Barker) Skaggs

Bernice Faye (Barker) Skaggs, 80, of Springfield, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020, in her residence. She was born May 27, 1940, a daughter of Ernest and Grettie V. (Pelfrey) Barker. Bernice enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her westerns. Her family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the Great Dayton, Ohio Hospice, especially Caroline and Sheila. Bernice is survived by daughters, Helen Baughn, Sally (Brandon) Daniels, Donna (Richard) Hall, Edna (Robert) Leath, all of Springfield; sisters, Dorothy (Herbert) Wade of Hilliard, Jesse Griffith of Blaine, Ky., Wilma (Charles) Saylers of Cattleburg, Ky., Katherine (George) Marshall of Blaine, Ky., Hazel (Herbert) Thompson of Indianapolis, Ind., Billy (Ruth) Barker of New Carlisle;grandchildren, Richard (Tabatha) Hall, James Payton (fiance’ Jennifer Fox), Christopher Leath (fiance’ Sarah Beaty), Bryan (Tasha) Hall, Justin Daniels (Tiffany Clarkston), Dustin (Jennifer) Daniels, and Brandy (Paul) Baker; twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Hager Skaggs; brother, Herbert Thomas Barker; son-in-law, Bobbie Baughn and Mike Payton. As per Bernice’s request, there will be no services.
